MOBILE PHONE FREEWARE

J2ME - Java MIDP 2.0 / CLDC 1.0 compatible software

BigClock - a REALLY big digital clock for your mobile phone.

*NEW*! v1.3 (2008-03-09)

Features:

Carillon every hour

Vibrate and sound at 15/30/45 minutes.

Alarm

Time adjust for buggy cell phones (NEW in 1.3)

Commands:

* - Switch horizontal / vertical display

# - Format: 24h / 24h without seconds / 12h AM-PM

0 - Flash every second (use as emergency beacon!)

1 - Change foreground color

2 - Adjust time

3 - Change background color

4 - Sound enable / disable (does NOT override alarm)

5 - Help

6 - Vibra enable / disable

7 - Backlight enable / disable (overrides '0')

8 - Alarm menu

9 - Quit

While in Adjust(2) or Alarm(8) mode, use 1/4 to set hours, 2/5 to set min.tens, and 3/6 to set units

In some buggy cell phones (e.g. some models of Motorola, but not all), you should set 'Backlight disable' as due to phone design error, the backlight won't turn on again while pressing any key after backlight was turned off. Other brand had the 'great' idea (?) of making the backlight turn on and off annoyingly by itself out of control (e.g. Nokia).

Option Adjust(2) is necessary only in other cheap phones (e.g. almost all Samsung), having a bug which doesn't return the correct time to the Java System (you should note in this case ALL Java midlets will show the same behavior, as is not my application fall).

PhoneFractal - Fond of fractals? Burn your phone's CPU and waste your battery, generating the Mandelbrot set (a task your phone wasn't designed to).

As you can confirm doing a quick research in the Internet history, PhoneFractal was the FIRST program in his kind to be able to draw fractals in a standalone cell phone.

*NEW*! v1.1 (2008-03-09) FASTER calculation for newer phones with CLDC 1.1 using system floating point.
(If your phone is CLDC 1.0 instead, you should download the old 1.0 version)

Commands:

4/Left, 6/Right, 2/Up, 8/Down - Shift image area

5 - Zoom in

3 - Zoom out

9 - Quit

1 - Help

7 - Image info

Be patient! calculation can take a while.

The old version of PhoneFractal (for CLDC 1.0) includes the MathFP library, from Onno Hommes, freely available at www.jscience.net

PhoneFractal does NOT use any network connection to generate the image; using this method can make exploration very fast, but I want to burn only my phone, not my whole economy. A program of this kind is muFrac, a distributed fractal explorer.
